Product Development Specialist (Hybrid)
Location: Framingham, MassachusettsJob Type: ContractCompensation Range: $28 - 31 per hourWe are seeking a highly organized Product Development Specialist to join our team, focusing specifically on hard home décor, with an emphasis on Candles. You will work directly with the Product Development Manager and Merchants to develop and execute products based on strategic vision and market voids. The primary goal of this role is to ensure the timely shipment of quality, trend-right products, while developing strong working relationships with agents, buyers, vendors, and inter-departmental associates.Responsibilities: Collaborate on Product Vision: Work directly with our Product Managers and Merchants to develop products that align with vision, market voids, and current trends. Manage Development Process: Coordinate the product development lifecycle, adhering to strict time and action deadlines to ensure timely shipments. Ensure Quality & Compliance: Review all samples from vendors to ensure they meet our rigorous quality and technical standards. You'll provide clear, actionable feedback to vendors on corrections for color, components, and overall samples. Team & Vendor Communication: Build strong working relationships and foster clear communication with Agents, Buyers, Vendors, Design, Buying, and Sourcing Teams. Monitor Production Flow: Assist in monitoring delivery and production progress, utilizing WIP reports to ensure all product development-related tasks are on schedule. Drive Efficiency: Contribute to creating achievable programs and identifying efficiencies within the product development process. Recommend Improvements: Proactively suggest methods to enhance product construction and quality. Qualifications: 2+ years of Product Development experience, with a focus on hard home goods (experience with candles is a big plus). Degree in Fashion/Home Product Design or a related field. Proficiency in PC skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook) and strong Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) for data analysis. Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator, PhotoShop, and Acrobat. Strong understanding of product design and specifications. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interpret and convey conceptual design ideas. Highly organized with strong follow-through abilities, capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment. Team player with a proactive and integrity-driven approach. Degree in Fashion/Home Product Design and/or related.
