Job Description

Job Title: Product Development Intern 

Location: Corporate Headquarters

Department: Marketing

Job Summary:   The Product Development Intern will support the development and validation of product specifications and be primarily involved with the product quality process. Secondarily, the product development intern will assist with the coordination and execution of our Food and Beverage internal sensory events. Assist the broader Product Development Team as needed.

Principal Duties:Perform quality control checks on key Wawa branded products. Document and communicate findings.Support development and verification of Wawa product specifications for priority productsWork with product development team to support ingredient portioningExecute on-site sensory events. Assist with sample preparation, panel management, data review, and reporting.Verify key data points during menu authoring such and calories, allergens and ingredients.Assist Product Development Team with product testing and internal product reviews. Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

Pursuing Bachelor’s Degree with a concentration or major in Food ScienceKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite of productsExperience or willingness to learn sensory techniques and sensory software (Compusense®)
