Product Designer

We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Product Designer to lead the design and development of innovative flooring products. In this role, you will be responsible for translating market trends, customer needs, and brand direction into compelling flooring designs within the resilient flooring category. The ideal candidate combines a strong sense of aesthetics with technical understanding and industry knowledge to create products that are both beautiful and manufacturable.

JOB DUTIES:

Research and analyze flooring trends, materials, colors, and finishes to inform new product development.

Design and develop flooring collections that align with brand positioning and customer preferences.

Create detailed design specifications, renderings, material samples, and color palettes.

Collaborate with product development, marketing, sales, and manufacturing teams to bring concepts to market.

Source and evaluate new materials, finishes, and technologies relevant to flooring design.

Participate in product reviews and iterate designs based on stakeholder feedback.

Ensure all designs meet functional, aesthetic, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Support marketing teams with product storytelling, visualizations, and creative launch materials.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively. Strong customer service focus and problem-solving abilities to address client concerns and deliver superior customer experience. Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team to achieve shared goals. Strong organizational and time management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s or similar degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Textile Design, or a related field. 3+ years of experience in product design, preferably within the flooring or interior finishes industry. Strong portfolio showcasing relevant design projects, material exploration, and finished products. Proficient in design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite or AVA. Knowledge of flooring materials, construction methods, and manufacturing processes is a plus. Excellent visual, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. Passion for design, innovation, and staying ahead of market trends.

Experience working with global suppliers and manufacturers.

Understanding consumer behavior and user experience in residential or commercial flooring.

Work Environment:

Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions with standard level of noise common to an office environment including office equipment and co-workers speaking to each other and on phones. Employees are required to wear personal protective equipment when entering the floor of manufacturing facilities based on the specific requirements of each location.
