Design CAD components as main percentage of its workload. NX is the main software for this development. Understand and apply parametric design techniques.
Design, specify, test, validate, and release components for assigned vehicle families; analyze and resolve part-related failures; propose, validate, and achieve cost reductions related to these components.
Implement changes or modifications to components of assigned vehicle families (Change Notices - CNs).
Request and authorize required testing of systems, parts, and components to ensure they meet design requirements (Design Verification Plan & Report).
Prepare and evaluate assembly and operational tests of parts at assembly plants prior to their incorporation into vehicle production (Production Evaluation Request).
Determine and publish temporary or permanent approvals for part validations within assigned vehicle families.
Analyze and resolve performance and durability issues of parts in vehicles from assigned families (Customer Problem Resolution Team, Customer Advocate Group "Tag" Quality Alert, GIMS, Expenses per unit sold, C/1000, Launch Indicators Issues).
Develop parts with suppliers following the "Source Package" process.
Provide support to assembly and manufacturing plants regarding the use and application of specifications and designs per the latest engineering changes.
Apply and utilize design software and hardware for required models according to the assigned commodity or components. Follow the training and development plan to acquire the necessary skills and knowledge to meet objectives.
Standardize components and perform benchmarking (performance, weight, cost efficiency). Prepare FMEAs.
Approve or reject requests for temporary or permanent product deviations.
Request prototype manufacturing and part batches to resolve warranty issues.
Propose and/or develop cost reduction initiatives (TCR/VO).
Execute product change notifications (CNs).
Verify the manufacturing process of the product prior to part production.
Request and obtain concurrence for: validations, temporary and permanent deviations of the designed product.
Gather information on product changes, implementation dates, technical service bulletins and/or campaigns, engineering standards, part lists, and engineering drawings.
Coordinate DFMEAs and PFMEAs with suppliers.
