Product Cost Specialist 1Position Overview
Develop accurate standard costs after reviewing specs, raw material costs, manufacturing standards, and margins for accuracy. Resultant costs used for inventory valuation, pricing, earnings, manufacturing P & L, gross margin reporting, and use as raw materials in other products.
Responsibilities
Work with R & D, manufacturing, sales, and others as needed to develop the corporate standard costs for new manufactured styles, including estimates for products being developed and products submitted for job quotes
Update standard costs on a quarterly basis
Determine and maintain standard costs for raw materials used in manufacturing
Maintain costs of products bought for resale including cost of procurement
Maintain waste and distressed values for raw materials
Maintain values of off quality or distressed inventory
Determine accurate raw material usage standards from product specs
Utilize various systems to review or assign appropriate production standards and develop accurate standard costs
Compile and verify all input data and calculations before approving standard costs
Challenge any questionable inputs prior to approval such as costs for new products vs. expected margins or margin guidelines
Review the quarterly change comparisons verifying the accuracy of changes
Document and follow procedures
System improvements in conjunction with IS, Manufacturing, Accounting, R & D, Sales, Tax, CDS, etc
Reporting as needed to serve our internal customers
Guard confidential intellectual property including but not limited to: costs, processes, procedures, systems, calculations, etc
Basic knowledge of costing processes and systems Position

High School Education

Computer skills: proficient with costing programs and other spec related programs Impact, TTR, GLINK, NSP Project
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel and Word)
Possesses a good understanding of manufacturing
Has working knowledge of formula calculations used in the costing process

This role is a hybrid position. Applicants must be local to the surrounding area of Dalton, GA.
