Product Architect
Job Description Day-to-Day Responsibilities • Architectural Oversight: o Enforce enterprise architecture standards and ensure technical adherence across the software engineering team o Collaborate with the software team lead (not responsible for running scrums) • Cross-Functional Collaboration: o Participate in architecture review boards and work with architects from other products o Engage with a broad community of stakeholders to align on product architecture • Technical Leadership: o Guide implementation of medical device software architecture o Ensure integration of microservice-based interfaces for external systems • Product Focus: o Serve as the architect for a specialized radiology product (long-term launch horizon) • Compliance & Quality: o Maintain adherence to regulatory and quality standards throughout development lifecycle Position Overview As Product Architect within our Fortune 500 pharma client within their Radiology Software Development organization, you will define and drive the architectural vision for advanced medical device software solutions. This role focuses on Software in a Medical Device (SiMD) and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD) features, along with associated Data and Connectivity platforms. Acting as a technical leader for a team of approximately 25 engineers, you will guide the integration of embedded systems, Linux-based platforms, and microservice architectures for external interfaces. Key responsibilities include enforcing architectural frameworks, participating in architecture review boards, and maintaining adherence to medical device compliance standards throughout the development lifecycle. This strategic role combines high-level vision with hands-on leadership for a specialized radiology product with a long-term launch horizon. Skills and Requirements • Education: o Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field o Master’s degree preferred • Experience: o Strong background in medical device development (Class 2B or similar) o Familiarity with radiology products; experience with cardiology injector devices is a plus • Technical Skills: o Expertise in embedded systems and Linux o Knowledge of microservice architecture for external interfaces • Leadership & Collaboration: o Ability to supervise technical work for large software teams (approx. 25 engineers) o Skilled in enforcing enterprise architecture frameworks across teams • Regulatory Awareness: o Understanding of medical device compliance standards and documentation requirements
