This role is ideal for a curious and creative journalist with strong editorial instincts, solid scripting and producing skills, and a passion for turning the news into impactful visual storytelling. **Your Role Accountabilities…** + Lead the editorial development and production of explainer videos covering a wide range of topics including politics, global affairs, science, technology and culture. + Pitch, research, script and oversee the production of original video content that breaks down complex stories into engaging, digestible formats for a digital audience. + Collaborate closely with reporters, editors, motion graphics designers and other producers to deliver high-quality, visually rich storytelling. + Shape the editorial voice and visual approach of explainers, ensuring clarity, accuracy and audience engagement across platforms. + Manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines. + Incorporate insights into story development to drive impact and reach. + Stay ahead of emerging storytelling techniques, trends in visual journalism, and competitive explainer content. **Qualifications & Experience…** + 5 years of experience in digital video journalism in a newsroom environment. + Demonstrated ability to craft clear, compelling scripts and edits that distill complex topics (examples required). + Strong editorial judgment, news instincts and commitment to journalistic standards. + Proficiency in video production, shooting and editing (e.g., Adobe Premiere); familiarity with motion graphics or animation workflows. + Comfortable managing multiple projects on tight deadlines in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. + Strong communication skills and openness to feedback and growth. + Passion for storytelling, visual journalism and CNN’s mission to inform and engage a global audience. **How We Get Things Done…** This last bit is probably the most important! Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $68,460.00 - $127,140.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros.
