A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A PRODUCE MANAGER
As a Produce Manager, you have the artistic ability to present a collage of fresh, crisp, bright fruits and vegetables while maintaining organization and employee supervision within the department. To truly be successful in the position, you need to be thoughtful and passionate about your work and be able to lead a successful team. In this role, the produce department is your canvas, and you will enjoy creating a colorful masterpiece for your customers to enjoy. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS**
Customer Service: Provide high-quality service per company standards. Staff Management: Train, schedule, and supervise produce clerks. Financial Management: Achieve department budget and goals. Customer Interaction: Address and resolve complaints professionally. Marketing and Merchandising: Execute weekly plans. Inventory Management: Perform daily checks and order supplies. Sales Forecasting: Forecast weekly sales and track purchases. Corporate Initiatives: Support company initiatives. Customer Assistance: Help customers select and purchase items. Product Inspection: Check code dates and remove old stock. Scheduling: Write department schedule based on sales forecast. Labeling Compliance: Follow produce labeling requirements. Freshness Maintenance: Ensure produce freshness on sales floor. Sales Promotion: Inform customers, provide samples, and promote sales. Stock Handling: Receive deliveries, build displays, and rotate stock. Product Preparation: Prepare items for sales floor through crisping process. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to weights, measures, sanitation, and safety regulations. Price Management: Apply new price tags and make signs. Area Cleanliness: Clean display and back-room areas. Supplies Transport: Move bag rolls and twist ties to display areas. Floor Inspection: Check floors for debris and water. Temperature Checks: Perform checks twice daily. Uniform Compliance: Follow uniform and grooming policy.

(Employees may be scheduled to work early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays, and schedules may vary on a weekly basis) Ability to comply with workplace conduct standards Desired: Prior management experience
