Main responsibilities:
The Produce Buyer is responsible for the Procurement of various commodities assigned to them. The Produce Buyer is responsible for maintaining a high Fill Rate from DC to store and ensuring that the stores are receiving the highest quality of product at the right price. The Buyer will work closely with their Manager and Retail Sales Team to determine inventory levels to support In-Store promotions. The buyer will work with their QC partners on the quality of the product. The Buyer will also negotiate cost when appropriate with various suppliers to ensure the best cost of product.
Work with multiple suppliers on securing best possible cost Forecast Demand to create and manage purchase orders based on forecasted quantities Partner with the Retail and Sales Team on Promotions and Holiday forecasted quantities. Responsible for the management of their desk. Manage the success of KPI’s for their desk Work with Quality Control on any issues from the receiving dock Collaborate with suppliers, store operations, distribution centers and division personnel to accomplish job functionsWe are looking for candidates who possess the following:
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Switch gears between tasks and projects
Manage a desk with variation of products and categories
Be responsible for ensuring key KPI’s are achieved
We believe the successful candidate has these qualifications and experience:
1-2 years purchasing experience
1-2 years of forecasting experience
1-2 years of inventory management experience
Ability to negotiate with suppliers
Communicate strongly using multiple channels of communication
Knowledge of Produce categories is a plus

Starting rates will be no less than the local minimum wage and may vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range.
