Produce Buyer
Job Title: Produce BuyerJob Description As a Produce Buyer, you will be responsible for negotiating and replenishing products such as meat, produce, seafood, or grocery items at competitive market prices while ensuring accurate delivery. Your role will involve establishing pricing guidelines, maintaining sales and gross profit expectations, generating reports, and analyzing product selection, sales, pricing, market reports, and forecasts for promotions. Responsibilities + Purchase produce, fruit vegetables, and perishables, handling items with expiration dates. + Initiate the quote process with suppliers, evaluate supplier bids, and participate in price negotiations. + Maintain purchase orders by updating delivery dates, prices, and other required supplier information. + Maintain procurement records including items or services purchased, cost, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories. + Execute purchase order cancellations and resolve invoice discrepancies. + Place orders for submitted purchase requisitions. + Review orders for accuracy, pricing, and delivery. + Prepare reports, plans, and update metrics as required. Essential Skills + Experience in purchasing and procurement. + Proficiency in purchase order management and supply chain processes. + Expertise in ERP systems and buyer purchasing. + Proficient in MS Office applications. + 4+ years of purchasing experience. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in food buying. + Qualification as a Buyer. Work Environment This position is onsite, requiring attendance at the designated workplace. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $42.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
