Role and Responsibilities
Vendor Management
Works collaboratively across the organization with cross-functional internal stakeholders to identify, facilitate, optimize, and help execute the purchase, of goods or services, and/or manage vendor deliverables, for assigned indirect spend categories, such as, but not limited to, goods purchases, sales labor, warehouse and fulfillment, fixture manufacturing and deployment, software licenses, professional services, equipment, business process outsourcing, various marketing activities, general construction and repair and maintenance.Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, serving as the primary point of contact for inquiries and issue resolution.From time-to-time lead vendor performance remediation activities of assigned categories to monitor KPIs and SLAs, compliance to contractual terms and conditions, vendor deliverables, financial and operational health and develop risk mitigation plans for critical and preferred vendors.Support negotiations of contracts, terms, and pricing with vendors to ensure favorable conditions and compliance with company policies.Communicate Samsung vendor policies and provide a point of escalation for the business related to company policies and processes.Manage end-to-end vendor onboarding process including collection and verification of essential documentation, provide necessary training and orientation to ensure vendors understand company policies and processes, and work with internal stakeholders and teams to complete onboarding activities in a timely manner.Cultivate expertise in vendor management principles and best practices to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams, particularly financial and operational partners, ensuring alignment and seamless support for strategic vendor initiatives.Ensure all vendor-related activities adhere to regulatory and company standards, mitigating potential risks.Indirect Category Management
Have ability to lead strategic sourcing projects from start-to-finish, including but not limited to, development and implementation of proper sourcing approach (RFI, RFQ, RFP, etc.) for specific goods/services based on complexity, business needs, risk and timelines; vendor identification/research; category/market research; applicable data analysis; and cost baseline development.Lead or support complex RFx activities, involving comprehensive scope and questionnaire development in collaboration with stakeholders, identify appropriate vendor KPIs or SLAs, drive and deliver on project timelines, and perform offer analysis and bid scenario evaluation, including comparing costs to baseline, in order to identify the best vendor proposal based on business requirements and negotiate favorable contract terms.Perform complex data analysis to identify new sourcing and other cost optimization opportunities in order to generate cost savings for spend categories.Proactively establish a reputation as the go-to expert, utilizing deep knowledge to provide guidance, resolve complex issues, and foster a culture of continuous improvement withing this role to the organization.Skills and Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Finance/Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field from a four-year college or university.4 years purchasing experience (or equivalent) in a Procurement, Category Management, Strategic Sourcing and/or Vendor management role.Proven collaborator with the ability to work with all levels and functions.Knowledge and understanding of multi-step Category Management, and/or Strategic Sourcing processes.Strong ability in project management and to assess impact of a given project: planning, organizing, and prioritizing multiple complex assignments and projects.Strong multi-tasking skills along with excellent analytical, negotiation, written and oral communication skills.Proven ability to influence others and drive meaningful change results.Leverage a data-centric approach to influence diverse stakeholders and drive cross-functional alignment, ensuring solutions meet critical business needs.Must be a strong team player and demonstrate adept interpersonal and excellent collaborative skills in order to maintaining excellent working relationships with multiples levels within the company.Ability to work independently, take initiative, and has strong prioritization skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously and keep high level of focus.This position demands a high degree of ethics and professionalism to ensure control of the company’s expenditures.In-depth use and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint).Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree or industry recognized certification highly preferred.Industry recognized credentials or certifications (CPSM, ACSM, etc.).Demonstrated ability to drive process improvements and optimize costs.Some experience with or understanding of the retail industry.#LI-RL1
