Procurement Trainee

Job Description Summary

The Procurement Trainee role is supporting the Procurement Lead in the delivery of procurement events across multiple clients ranging from federal, state, local governments to private entities. The trainee will be shadowing the Procurement Lead and is responsible for learning and assisting in compilation of tender documentation, expressions of interest, contract drafting, collaboration and communication with suppliers.

Job Description

Job Purpose:

The purpose is to learn and contribute to procurement activities as directed by Procurement Lead.

Key Learning Outcomes:

Understanding procurement frameworks; policies and procedures.

Understanding the end-to-end procurement lifecycle.

Drafting procurement documentation inclusive of contract documentation.

Conducting market research.

Multitasking.

Building relationships with internal stakeholders as well as suppliers/ contractors.

Indirect procurement (facilities services, utilities, corporate).

Record retention framework.

Minute taking.

Coordinate contractors’ communications.

Adherence to C&W Global Policies including but not limited to: Code of Business Conduct, Vendor Supplier Integrity, Due Diligence, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, and Health and Safety.

Required Competencies:

Basic Research Skills: Gathering information on potential suppliers, using internal and external resources.

Advanced Communication Skills: Ability to clearly communicate with suppliers, internal stakeholders and team members.

Basic Analytical Skills: Basic analytical abilities.

Ideal Candidate Required Experience:

There is no requirement for experience in the role. This position is a junior role designed to enable the learning of procurement. It is suitable for a school leaver, TAFE/ university graduate, facilities/ administration officer, or career pivot seeking individual.

Working Conditions:

This hybrid position is based in Sydney NSW. The candidate can work remotely or out of the Cushman & Wakefield’s Sydney or Parramatta offices. Working from home requires appropriate working conditions (considering lighting, heating/ ventilation, noise, workstation, ergonomics, fast internet connection) and is subject to manager’s approval.
