 We're looking for a commercially sharp, solutions‑driven Procurement Lead who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and knows how to turn smart sourcing into real business value.
 
About the role

The Procurement Team Lead is responsible for sourcing and negotiating the purchasing prices for raw materials, goods and services that meet the company’s manufacturing and operational requirements. This includes managing supplier relationships, ensuring cost-effectiveness procurement practices while maintaining quality and compliance standards. They are also responsible for directly managing Purchasing Officers.


What You’ll Do

 

Strategic Procurement

Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with overall business goals.Monitor market trends and adjust procurement plans to maintain competitiveness and supply continuity.Identify continuous improvement opportunities to enhance procurement processes and supplier collaboration.Track and report productivity improvements through cost‑saving initiatives.

 

Supplier Management

Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, safety, service, and reliability.Lead RFP and tender processes for high‑value or strategic spend categories.Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and service levels with vendors.Manage supplier performance, resolve issues, and conduct quarterly reviews for key suppliers.Maintain strong relationships with suppliers while upholding Smurfit WestRock’s values of Safety, Loyalty, Integrity, and Respect.

 

Operational Procurement

Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, contracts, and supplier data.Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.Monitor budgets and track procurement expenses to support financial control.Assess and mitigate supply chain risks to ensure continuity of critical materials and services.

 

Cross‑Functional Collaboration

Work closely with internal departments to understand procurement needs and support operational requirements.Prepare procurement reports and analysis for APAC Cost Steering Group meetings.

 

What You’ll bring

Bachelor or Diploma or Procurement or Supply Chain Management or significant experience in lieu of.5+ years’ experience in ProcurementPeople ManagementStrong Excel skillsProblem solving skillsAbility to stick to strict deadlinesAn ability to prioritise Able to interact directly with suppliers when required
