Job Description
This is a 6 month contract, with the potential of extending to 12 months, where you will implement category management across the enterprise in a transformative initiative aimed at delivering efficiencies to our user ministry partners and the public. As a Procurement Specialist, you will support the planning and delivery of complex procurement initiatives, contributing to project coordination, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement activities.
Responsibilities
Assist in organizing, tracking, and reporting on key activities related to category management strategies.Plan and coordinate procurement-related tasks such as financial forecasting, gathering technical requirements, and documenting procurement strategies.Collaborate with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and cross-functional teams to facilitate communication and ensure alignment.Perform data analysis and review documents such as contracts and payment data.Prepare status updates, dashboards, and project reports, and maintain project documentation.Identify and recommend improvements to procurement practices and project coordination tools.Assist in the creation of training materials and templates to promote procurement modernization efforts.Carry out additional tasks as assigned to support procurement transformation goals.Essential Skills
Proficiency in procurement processes and project management.Relevant post-secondary education in supply chain, procurement, business, or a related field (minimum 2-year diploma).Clear verbal and written communication skills.Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects.4 years of experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).4 years of direct experience in non-IT project management.4 years of experience in public sector procurement processes.Additional Skills & Qualifications
Completion of SCMP or other equivalent courses and associated certificates.4 years of experience creating and using advanced Excel skills such as Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP.4 years of experience in developing and releasing RFPs, RFQs, RFIs, and conducting negotiations.Understanding of trade agreements and competitive bid law.Work Environment
The role involves working in a collaborative environment with diverse groups, requiring professional interaction and communication. You will use technologies such as MS Office Suite for managing various tasks and projects.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $42.00/hr.
