Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist to cover a maternity leave until mid-August. The role involves leading and managing sourcing strategies within defined categories, engaging with senior stakeholders, and providing procurement advice to business areas.
ResponsibilitiesEngage with stakeholders to understand business requirements and define category strategy plans.Implement sourcing processes for goods and services.Maintain a comprehensive understanding of business drivers and their impact on strategy.Serve as a subject matter expert on procurement policies, processes, and best practices.Manage key sourcing activities for business projects, ensuring timely delivery and risk management.Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers and identify potential new partners.Monitor compliance with the sourcing process and act as an internal consultant.Develop category or sub-category strategy plans and sourcing pipelines.Essential SkillsStrong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.Strong analytical and decision-making skills.Understanding of procurement and sourcing techniques and supply chain management.Experience in procurement or purchasing.Additional Skills & QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field.Experience with supplier performance management and vendor management.Experience in drafting agreements and managing contract renewals.Microsoft Office proficiency.Experience with facilities service related systems or Jaggaer is a plus.Work Environment
This position operates Monday through Friday, with hours from either 8 AM to 5 PM or 7 AM to 4 PM, depending on the candidate's timezone. Preference is given to candidates in Central or Eastern time zones.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
