Procurement Specialist
Job Title: Procurement SpecialistJob Description

The Procurement Specialist will work independently in leading major high-dollar complex sourcing or contract development events. This role serves as a subject matter expert for assigned categories of large or complex spend requirements that support emerging or evolving programs across various business units. The Procurement Specialist will act as a consultant to Category Managers, business units, and Procurement Professionals, providing guidance on sourcing, contract development, and formation. The position requires the ability to write business deals and collaborate with legal, risk, safety, and other departments to secure business interests. The role involves directing the activities of Procurement Professionals or Analysts and engaging with business unit leadership to achieve procurement goals.

ResponsibilitiesWrite summaries and details for complex or non-standard contracts, including pricing, performance criteria, service levels, warranties, terms and conditions, and risk mitigations.Modify existing complex or non-standard contracts in coordination with Legal as necessary.Provide advisory support for contract development and negotiations to category managers and procurement professionals.Apply pricing models, cost containment models, pricing caps, total cost-of-ownership models, and indices during contract development.Support category managers in refining sourcing strategies for complex spend.Ensure transactional and customer support services align with category strategies by working with the Service Center.Collaborate with the Supply Chain Center of Excellence, the Service Center, and business partners on projects to address recurring issues, improve efficiency, and enhance satisfaction.Essential SkillsDeep understanding of contract design and structure, including terms, language, templates, performance criteria, and other components.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time management skills.Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage business partners, stakeholders, and suppliers.Persuasive with the ability to build credibility.Proficient in procurement, contract management, contract negotiation, and procurement analysis.Bachelor's Degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is required.Additional Skills & Qualifications7 years of relevant work experience in contract management or supply chain is required.Experience in the utility, manufacturing, or construction industry is preferred.Focus on writing complex contracts related to Construction, Electrical, EPC, and Major Equipment with long lead times.Supplier management and strategic sourcing skills.Work Environment

The position is onsite at the headquarters, operating from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The dress code is business casual. Benefits include PTO/Holiday Pay while through the hiring agency, potential for permanent hire after 6 months (timeline not guaranteed), and free parking downtown.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.75 - $52.00/hr.
