The Procurement Specialist will manage electrical materials and equipment categories. This role involves developing and executing sourcing and category strategies while supporting RFx processes and bid evaluations. The specialist will negotiate pricing, rebates, and supplier agreements, and develop and maintain supplier relationships. Monitoring supplier performance, compliance, and service levels is also a key aspect of this position.
ResponsibilitiesConduct market research and supplier benchmarking.Analyze commodity pricing, market trends, and fluctuations.Perform spend analysis and cost optimization initiatives.Track procurement KPIs such as savings, compliance, and performance.Build reports and dashboards using Excel and Power BI.Support budgeting, forecasting, and cost modeling.Implement and manage vendor framework agreements.Optimize rebate programs and purchasing behavior.Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations teams.Support material planning and site requirements.Issue and manage purchase orders.Manage the purchase-to-pay lifecycle and documentation.Maintain contracts, supplier records, and scorecards.Resolve supplier and internal procurement issues.Identify and drive procurement process improvements.Ensure policy, governance, and audit compliance.Leverage ERP and e-procurement platforms.Essential SkillsExperience in procurement, purchasing, and supply chain management.Proficiency in purchase order negotiation and supplier performance.Strategic sourcing and procurement analysis skills.End-to-end procurement execution in a construction environment.Advanced Excel capabilities including analysis, pivots, lookups, and reporting.ERP and procurement systems experience.Supplier negotiation and RFx expertise.College diploma in Business, Materials Management, or Supply Chain Management.Additional Skills & QualificationsKnowledge of electrical materials.Experience with Power BI and advanced reporting tools.Skills in process improvement and procurement transformation.Understanding of blueprints and technical drawings.Work EnvironmentThis role requires strong vendor negotiation, long-lead risk management, national supplier coordination, rebate and pricing optimization, and technical credibility with manufacturers. We use Microsoft Dynamics as our ERP system and Coupa as our procurement tool. The work schedule is five days a week in the office, with occasional on-site visits. The standard workweek is 37.5 hours, with office hours from 8 am to 4 pm. The dress code is casual, and there is parking on-site with easy access to the Pioneer Village TTC subway station.
