Procurement Specialist

Airswift is seeking a Technical Procurement Specialist to support one of our major energy clients across Western Australia and Northern Territory operations. This role is part of a blended Perth–Manilla Procurement team responsible for managing ~25,000 lines of open demand. The position focuses on converting demand into timely, accurate procurement actions while ensuring technical compliance, commercial value, and supplier performance.

Key Responsibilities Supply Execution & Reliability Convert planning demand and forecast changes into timely and accurate procurement activities. Ensure suppliers consistently meet delivery commitments; proactively identify and mitigate risks or constraints. Interpret technical specifications, drawings, datasheets, and QA/QC requirements to ensure correct sourcing. Collaborate closely with engineers and suppliers to resolve technical or documentation?related issues. Commercial Delivery Lead competitive sourcing events, negotiations, and award recommendations to achieve best?value outcomes. Identify and drive cost?reduction initiatives through consolidation, supplier optimization, and commercial levers. Ensure commercial decisions fully align with technical requirements and operational risk considerations. Category & Contract Alignment Translate category strategies into executable procurement plans for critical materials and services. Maintain accurate material, supplier, and contract data to support planning and demand integrity. Ensure technical requirements remain aligned with contract scope and approved supplier capabilities. Supplier Performance & Issue Resolution Manage daily supplier communications, expediting, and resolution of supply issues. Work directly with supplier technical teams to troubleshoot specification, compliance, or quality concerns. Support continuous improvement and corrective action programs. Compliance, HSSE & Assurance Execute all procurement activities in line with Shell HSSE standards and governance requirements. Document technical clarifications, deviations, and approvals in accordance with assurance controls. Maintain accurate records within Ariba, SAP, and associated procurement systems. Continuous Improvement & Digital Enablement Contribute to simplification, automation, and data?driven enhancements within procurement processes. Support sustainability and lower?carbon sourcing initiatives where applicable. Identify recurring technical issues and collaborate with engineering and suppliers to improve standards. Skills & Experience 5–10 years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or materials management (energy, manufacturing, logistics, or chemicals preferred). Proven ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, and quality documentation. Strong analytical capability with experience in SAP, Ariba, RFx processes, and supplier performance management. Effective stakeholder management across Planning, Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Logistics, and Category Management. Flexible, solutions?oriented mindset with a strong ability to manage technical, supply, and commercial challenges.
