Job Description

The Purchasing and Inventory Specialist will oversee the activities of the purchasing and inventory control department while managing the inventory of materials for the company.

Responsibilities

Purchase supplies, materials, and parts for the company.Research, analyze, and forecast current and future buying trends, markets, styles, and products, focusing on specified target market and demographics.Communicate with suppliers to resolve issues related to delivery, quality, price, or conditions of sale.Develop and maintain relationships with wholesalers and suppliers.Review purchase orders and contracts for compliance with company and departmental policies.Negotiate contracts with wholesalers and suppliers.Assess financial risks of purchases.Develop and implement policies and procedures related to purchasing and inventory control to maximize efficiency and optimize workflow.Perform other related duties as assigned.Ensure compliance with GMPs and SQF standards.

Essential Skills

At least two years of experience in purchasing/procurement.Knowledge of QuickBooks.Experience with inventory management and performing cycle counts.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in the packaging industry is preferred.

Work Environment

This position requires onsite work from Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm. The role involves occasional walking on the production floor, necessitating the use of steel toe shoes.
