Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Procurement Specialist to manage the procurement of complex materials, components, and services essential for our engineering, production, and R&D programs. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong experience in negotiating and managing supplier relationships, as well as ensuring compliance with government regulations.
Responsibilities
+ Negotiate pricing, delivery terms, and long-term agreements with key suppliers to ensure optimal cost, quality, and performance.
+ Manage supplier performance, including conducting regular reviews and initiating corrective actions when needed.
+ Collaborate with internal departments such as engineering, operations, finance, and program management to align procurement activities with project schedules and business priorities.
+ Analyze procurement data to identify cost savings, sourcing efficiencies, and risk mitigation opportunities.
+ Review and approve purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders in accordance with internal controls and regulatory compliance.
+ Resolve procurement issues such as delivery delays, quality concerns, and invoice discrepancies.
+ Maintain and improve procurement records, including supplier qualification data and sourcing history.
+ Train and mentor junior procurement team members and support broader supply chain initiatives.
+ Ensure adherence to FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and other applicable government contracting regulations.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations, Engineering, or a related field.
+ 5+ years of procurement experience in a defense, aerospace, or electronics manufacturing environment.
+ Strong knowledge of purchasing best practices, supply chain principles, and government contracting requirements (FAR/DFARS).
+ Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and ERP/MRP systems.
+ Excellent negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
+ Proven ability to manage multiple procurement projects in a fast-paced environment.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Experience in the defense, electronics, and/or manufacturing industry.
+ Expertise in larger ERP systems and electronics manufacturing.
+ U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of government contract work.
Work Environment
This position is based at our manufacturing site in O'Fallon, MO. The company operates in a crucial industry focused on national defense and is financially robust, with ongoing acquisitions of multiple companies. The work environment is dynamic, requiring adherence to a business-casual dress code.

This is a Contract position based out of O'Fallon, Missouri.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
