Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated Procurement Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will utilize MRP logic and forecasts to procure raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items. This role involves managing inventory to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs, handling purchase orders from issuance to closure, and providing forecasts to suppliers. You will assist in selecting and qualifying suppliers and establish effective supplier relationships to mitigate risk in the supply chain.

Responsibilities

Utilize MRP logic and forecasts in the procurement of raw materials, subcontracted services, semi-finished goods, and indirect items.Manage inventory to maximize turnover while avoiding stock-outs.Manage Purchase Orders from issuance to closure, including resolving blocked invoices, discrepancies, and identifying when expedited shipment is needed.Provide forecasts to suppliers on a recurring and regular basis.Assist with the selection and qualification of suppliers based on commercial and technical capability.Establish effective supplier relationships which mitigate risk in the supply chain.Work closely with Commodity/Purchasing Managers to mature supply chain and assist with selection and qualification of new suppliers based on commercial and technical capability.Support management in the completion of supplier audits and scorecards.Ensure suppliers adhere to the requirements defined by Supplier Expectations.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Procurement, or Supply Chain Management preferred.3+ years of purchasing experience or extensive internship with direct buying responsibility.Procurement experience in manufacturing is beneficial.Good computer skills required.Experience with managing multiple priorities required.Effective interpersonal and communication skills, including negotiation skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Knowledge of MRP/SAP is a plus.APICS certification beneficial.

Work Environment

The work schedule is from 8am to 5pm, with an option to leave 30 minutes earlier if a 30-minute lunch is taken.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00/hr.
