Procurement Payables Analyst

The Procurement Payables Analyst plays a pivotal role in facilitating the procurement accounts payable function and optimizing processes that support our purchases of materials and services. The scope of this team touches Procurement, Accounts Payable Helpdesk, Procurement Invoice Processing, Corporate Credit Card Services, and plays a pivotal role in global duplicate payment prevention. Working closely with various stakeholders across the value chain, you will identify opportunities for synergy and automation to streamline accounting processes. Your expertise in accounts payable and your ability to research complex queries will be essential in driving operational excellence and supporting our strategic objectives.

 

Responsibilities May Include:

Foster vendor relationships and oversee the timely and accurate processing of invoices. Collaborate with Procurement to optimize vendor invoice processing. Provide analysis of accounts payable metrics, including aging reports, vendor performance, and process efficiency. Identify & research process and/or knowledge gaps of procurement accounts payable processes. Design & present training to procurement accounts payable team members and members of the procurement value chain. Provide timely feedback and coaching to invoice processors, help desk, and the credit card services team. Audit the performance quality of invoice processors, help desk, and the credit card services team. Escalation point of contact as issues arise and business needs aren’t being met. Assist the team in prioritizing work to ensure compliance with SLAs. Lead and/or participate in procurement, accounts payable, or card services-related projects. Test system/tools upgrades/changes (ex, SAP, Concur, Actian, and other critical systems). Research and resolution of outstanding account reconciliation items. Daily control analysis of potential duplicate payments. Daily analysis and processing of North American utility invoices.

 

Required Qualifications: 

Legally authorized to work in the job posting country Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5 or more years of accounts payable experience in the oil & gas or related industry Experience  working with large data sets, pivot tables, and advanced formulas for reporting and analysis purposes

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

Experience working with third-party vendors and outsourcing partners Experience in Procurement or Accounts Payables, preferably in the oil and gas industry Experience with SAP and/or VIM Strong communication (written & verbal) and relationship-building skills to maintain positive relationships with vendors and internal business partners Ability to quickly identify & resolve issues that arise with vendors, ensuring timely invoice processing Ability to work closely with internal businesses to drive continuous improvements Ability to design and deliver training materials for the accounts payable team and broader procurement team Ability to provide constructive feedback and help team members improve their performance
