Procurement Manufacturing Engineer Intern
**Introduction** In this role as a Procurement Manufacturing Engineer (PME) intern you will be part of the Supply Chain Engineering team working on Hardware Development for Power Systems New Products and supporting IBM's contract manufacturing supplier. You will interact with Development and supplier Engineering/Manufacturing teams to support the introduction of New Products, and assure production processes are met by the supplier according to IBM standards. The PME intern is also responsible for quality management, monitoring supplier quality performance, and driving corrective actions. **Your role and responsibilities** '- Under the direction of the Lead PME (product owner) you will work on the Development of New Products for Power Systems and qualifying all products and processes at the supplier to support General Availability (GA). - Monitor supplier Quality performance and drive actions in response to field performance quality issues, and open Pre-Stop/Stop-Ships - Ensure Engineering Changes (EC's) are released correctly and implemented at the supplier in a timely manner - Manage product/process Offspec evaluation/approval and ensure proper implementation at the supplier - Provide production support for supplier Manufacturing and Engineering teams. Ensure production and non-production orders are released correctly in IBM systems, provide process oversight to ensure technical requirements are met by the supplier, review Bill of Material (BOM) structure issues and provide appropriate resolution, validate configurator and placement assignments on orders (NewC/MFC) **Required technical and professional expertise** '- Fluency in English - excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential - Education Background - pursuing Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Industrial Engineering - Technical Skills - Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) **Preferred technical and professional experience** '- Understanding of Supply Chain processes including Manufacturing, supplier qualification, and supplier performance monitoring - Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment IBM is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal-opportunity employer.
