The Procurement Lead; Pharmacy Packaging & Logistics Leader will lead a team of three high-performing category management professionals in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. This role is responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of packaging materials and small parcel logistics services that support our mail-order pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will drive category strategy, foster strong supplier relationships, and deliver cost optimization initiatives that enhance operational efficiency and service quality. **Overview of the Role & Responsibilities** This leader will have the below roles and responsibilities. + Develop and execute strategic category management plans for packaging materials and small parcel logistics that align with business objectives and operational requirements. + Identify, evaluate, and onboard Tier 1 packaging suppliers to ensure competitive pricing, high-quality standards, and reliable delivery performance. + Empower category managers to establish Supply Strategy Councils within their respective categories, fostering strong stakeholder engagement and enabling the development of comprehensive multi-year strategies. + Negotiate long-term agreements with key suppliers to secure favorable terms, ensure supply continuity, and mitigate risk across the supply chain. + Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as operations, production, and quality assurance to ensure all products and services meet regulatory standards and business needs. + Champion innovation by sourcing and implementing new packaging and small parcel logistics solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and support sustainability goals. + Serve as a subject matter expert in the packaging and small parcel logistics categories, continuously monitoring market trends, supplier performance, and industry developments to inform sourcing strategies. + Ensure alignment with mail-order pharmacy initiatives by optimizing Total Cost of Delivery (TCD) while maintaining rigorous quality standards. + Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships that promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement. + Ensure full compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to packaging procurement. + Deliver data-driven insights and reporting on category performance, cost savings, supplier metrics, and strategic initiatives. **Use your skills to make an impact** **Required Qualifications** + **Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, Packaging Engineering, or a related field. + **Experience:** Minimum of 6 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within packaging and small parcel logistics categories. + **Sourcing & Category Management:** Proven expertise in strategic sourcing, supplier negotiations, contract management, and category leadership—specifically in packaging and small parcel logistics—to drive cost efficiency and quality improvements. + **Continuous Improvement Mindset:** Strong enthusiasm for enhancing consumer experiences and driving innovation in packaging and logistics solutions. + **Analytical & Communication Skills:** Skilled in analyzing market trends and supplier performance, with excellent verbal and written communication abilities to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. + **Relationship Management:** Track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with suppliers and internal business partners, ensuring alignment on quality, delivery, and strategic objectives. **Preferred Qualifications** + **Leadership Experience:** 3 years of direct Leadership experience to lead 2-3 direct reports + Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA), Supply Chain Management, or relevant field. + Specific experience in the packaging and small parcel logistics categories. + Leadership Experience - Proven experience in a leadership or managerial role, overseeing procurement teams or projects. + Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM) + Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) + Project Management Professional (PMP) **To be considered for hire you must reside in the following locations:** + Louisville, KY and neighboring Indiana + Georgia, preferably around Atlanta but open to other parts of the state + Texas + Eastern seaboard including: + Boston, MA and environs + New York (NYC and environs) / New Jersey / Pennsylvania + Maryland / DC / Virginia + Florida **Work-At-Home Requirements:** To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates’ ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria: + At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended; wireless, wired cable or DSL connection is suggested. + Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if approved by leadership. + Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense. + Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job. + Work from a dedicated space lacking ongoing interruptions to protect member PHI / HIPAA information. The pay range may be higher or lower based on geographic location and individual pay will vary based on demonstrated job related skills, knowledge, experience, education, certifications, etc. $104,000 - $143,000 per year This job is eligible for a bonus incentive plan.
