Your Role at Baxter
As the Director of Procurement, you will lead the end‑to‑end EMEA / APAC procurement strategy for Baxter’s manufacturing network. Your mission is to advance strategic sourcing, strengthen supply‑chain resilience, and unlock value across raw materials, components, equipment, and services. You will play a critical leadership role, shaping supplier partnerships, driving performance, and enabling operational excellence throughout the region.
This role has global visibility and direct impact on Baxter’s manufacturing efficiency and long‑term competitiveness.

What You’ll Be Doing
Build a deep understanding of global markets, supplier technologies, manufacturing processes, and cost drivers to anticipate trends and strengthen supply continuity.Serve as a senior advisor to procurement teams and internal leaders, providing strategic insights and market intelligence.Develop and execute global and regional sourcing strategies aligned with business priorities, supplier capabilities, and manufacturing requirements.Drive impactful cost‑optimization initiatives through competitive bidding, advanced negotiations, and proactive supplier management.Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and SLAs; draft and manage contracts as needed.Set clear supplier performance expectations and partner cross‑functionally to evaluate, improve, and elevate results.Lead strategic RFPs and category initiatives that support growth, quality, and margin improvement.Advise R&D and Engineering on supplier capabilities, innovative materials, and emerging trends.Lead risk‑management and supply‑continuity strategies across assigned categories.Develop strong supplier partnerships that fuel innovation, performance improvement, and long‑term value creation.Lead cross‑functional teams to deliver complex strategic sourcing projects and Margin Improvement Projects (MIPs).Apply rigorous financial analysis, benchmarking, and risk‑management frameworks to guide decision‑making.Foster high‑integrity supplier relationships aligned with Baxter’s Code of Ethics and global standards.Your Team

with responsibility spanning EMEA and APAC manufacturing operations.
What You’ll Bring
In‑depth knowledge of major packaging material categories and their cost, performance, and supply‑chain drivers — including engineered and converted substrates.Experience in the pharmaceutical sector is a strong advantage.Strong business acumen and financial analysis capabilities.Purchasing or Supply Chain certification desirable.High proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint).Proven ability to influence, engage, and align senior stakeholders across regions.Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex topics for decision‑makers.Demonstrated experience guiding teams and stakeholders through the Procurement & Supply Management (PSM) process.Strong project‑management skills, with capability to lead multiple initiatives concurrently.Knowledge of Six Sigma / Black Belt methodologies is a plus.Multicultural awareness and strong English communication skills.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.Master’s degree (MBA or MS in Supply Chain) preferred.10+ years of progressive procurement experience, including 5+ years in a manufacturing leadership role.Equal Employment Opportunity
