Our client, _a global leader in the manufacturing and supply chain industry_ , is seeking a **Procurement Category Specialist** to join their team, working a hybrid schedule, in **Maplewood, MN** . As a Procurement Category Specialist, you will be part of the Supply Chain Management department supporting strategic sourcing and supplier relationship management. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation skills, proactive problem-solving, and excellent communication abilities, which will align successfully in the organization.
**Job Title:** Procurement Category Specialist
**Location:** Maplewood, MN 55119 (Hybrid schedule: 4 days onsite, Monday to Friday, normal business hours)
**Pay Range:** $40-45/HR + Benefits
**Contract Duration:** 12-Months W2 Contract, potential to extend and/or hire on permanently
**Job Function:**
+ Create and execute best-in-class supply chain strategies for the Converting & Pack Out Services category across the Americas to drive supplier consolidation, reduce risk, and improve service levels.
+ Develop and implement category strategies aligned with procurement cost, cash, and growth objectives.
+ Build and nurture strong partnerships with suppliers and internal stakeholders including Manufacturing, R&D, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain Operations.
+ Lead supplier selection processes, negotiations, and manage complex supplier relationships, including NPI launches and external sourcing.
+ Identify opportunities for process improvements that enhance service, speed, or cost efficiency through data analysis and stakeholder engagement.
**Required Qualifications:**
+ Minimum of five years of experience in Sourcing, Procurement, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Manufacturing within private, public, government, or military environments.
+ Strong negotiation and contracting skills with a proven track record of managing complex supply relationships.
+ Experience working with third-party manufacturing or similar supply chain functions.
+ Excellent project management skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
+ Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution, verified prior to start date.
