Here’s what you’d do:
The Mgr, Procurement Category is responsible for leading the strategic direction and execution of category management. This role drives sourcing strategies, supplier negotiations, and contract management to optimize value, ensure compliance, and deliver measurable business results. This role is a key partner to internal stakeholders, leveraging data analytics to uncover savings opportunities, improve supplier performance, and enhance overall procurement effectiveness.
You’d be responsible for
Lead the strategy and execution of annual category plans to drive the strategic management of category spend across all BrightView branches, collaborating cross-functionally with Regional Procurement Managers (RPMs) and other stakeholdersExperience working with large unstructured data sets and drive categorization rules to enable a Spend Cube to generate funnel opportunities. Experience working with a spend cube and identifying opportunities to drive Spend Under Management Develop relationships with senior BrightView business stakeholders and cross-functional partners to maximize buy-in, ensure compliance, and drive awareness of strategic category initiatives (such as Preferred Supplier Program) Leverage competitive commercial approaches whenever possible to optimize savings and business valueNegotiate and manage global supplier contracts, focusing on pricing, service-level agreements (SLAs), performance metrics, and compliance requirementsLeveraging spend analytics, performance KPIs, and supplier scorecards to drive supplier performance and continuous improvement and drive corrective actions, when necessary, lead QBRsPerform required contract management activities, i.e. processing amendments, monitoring pricing accuracy and expiration dates, updating supporting documentation, maintaining price lists, ensuring up-to-date information in relevant systems, etc. Serve as a change agent and trusted advisor to internal stakeholders, communicating the value and ROI of new initiativesStay current on market and industry trends by leveraging internal analytics and external sources to inform and evolve long-term category plans (cost optimization and value enhancement)Support Brightview's goals related to responsible buying, including sustainability and supplier diversityYou might be a good fit if you have:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field; Master's degree or advanced certification (e.g., MBA, CPM, CPSM, CPSC, PMP) preferred5+ years’ experience in Procurement or Supply Chain operations or consultingDemonstrated success in complex program management, including stakeholder engagement and change managementDemonstrated experience in strategic category management in a comparably sized and complex environmentKnowledge of relevant direct and /or indirect spend categories (landscape supplies, heavy equipment, fuel, fleet, etc.)Proven ability to drive and quantify differentiated value beyond just savingsExcellent stakeholder management and business partnering skillsAdvanced negotiation and contract management skillsStrong business and financial acumen Ability to effectively communicate information in a clear and understandable manner, both verbally and writtenProficient with data tools and dashboards for spend analysis and reportingExperience in service-driven or field operations organizations (landscaping, construction, etc.) preferredStrong storytelling and presentation skills to influence at senior levels preferredComfort navigating enterprise resource planning (ERP) and procurement platforms preferredHere’s what to know about working here:
