**Date Posted:** 2026-02-20 **Country:** Canada **Location:** CA-ON-OAKVILLE-1400 ~ 1400 S Service Rd W ~ 1400 SERVICE **Position Role Type:** Onsite Collins aerospace is looking to hire **Process Technician - Zinc** ; Reporting to the Plating & Processing Supervisor, the Process Technician - Zinc; will be involved in the Zinc plating of aircraft components. **Work Shift: Afternoon Shift, Monday - Thursday ( 4:00 pm - 2:00 am)** **What You Will Do** + Zinc Nickel plating of aircraft components, including preparation of components, to customer specifications and development of work techniques + Part masking will be part of the regular duties of this position + Part fixturing, loading and unloading + Tank/chemistry maintenance and associated tooling + Act as a cross functional team member and support other plating applications as requested + Participate in lean initiatives (i.e. 5S, TPM, process improvement teams) + Communicate and co-ordinate priorities and process issues between operators and shifts + Observe and adhere to all safety policies and procedures + Perform other duties as required + Maybe required to cross train on other plating processes. + Can fully achieve the responsibilities of the position within a training time of 3 months. + Candidate will be expected to wear appropriate PPE **Qualifications You Must Have** + High school diploma, with 1 – 3 years previous process chemistry background; + Experience in measuring equipment such as calipers and Elco meters + Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints. + Experience in using various hand tools. + The selected candidate has to be eligible to work in Canada; successful candidate must meet all requirements under ITAR and CCGP **Qualifications You Must Have** + Degree in Chemical Engineering. + Prior chrome plating experience would be considered an asset + Verbal and written communication skills (English) + Demonstrated ability to work as a cross-functional employee. + Strong understanding of WHMIS Our **Advanced Structures** team leverages advanced materials and additive manufacturing to develop complex interior and exterior solutions.
