Process Technician IV

Laser Process Engineer responsible for developing, integrating, and optimizing laser-based manufacturing processes and automation solutions.

Job Requirements:

AA degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical field

5+ years of relevant industry experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Hands-on experience with laser systems (must-have)

Experience with machine integration, including optical systems and motion control

Experience programming Aerotech motion control systems (e.g., AeroScript, G-code, C#, or other .NET languages)

Experience building and testing prototypes from engineering concepts

Ability to make significant technical contributions on medium- to high-complexity projects with minimal supervision

Preferred Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or related field

Experience with automated manufacturing equipment and tooling development

Experience in highly regulated or high-precision manufacturing environments (e.g., medical devices, electronics, aerospace)

Familiarity with process validation, documentation standards, and design for manufacturability

Job Responsibilities:

Execute assigned project tasks and contribute to design, testing, and process development for laser-based systems

Build prototypes from concepts and independently coordinate prototyping efforts with internal and external resources

Apply technical expertise to design and innovate processes, tooling, procedures, and automation solutions involving laser and optical systems

Source, procure, and qualify new or modified laser equipment in coordination with internal teams and external vendors

Prepare clear technical reports, test summaries, and engineering documentation

Leverage internal networks to secure required materials, services, and support for project execution

Collaborate cross-functionally with R&D, Process Development, Quality, Production, Regulatory, Equipment Engineering, Supply Chain, and Marketing on project deliverables

Mentor and train peers on technical tasks, equipment operation, and process concepts

Propose and develop new or improved designs, materials, or processes and independently solve routine technical challenges

Research, evaluate, and stay current on emerging laser, motion control, and automation technologies

Identify and drive new applications for existing technologies and influence teams through well-supported technical recommendations, including articulation of resource needs for experiments and development work

Pay Details: $30.00 to $35.00 per hour
