Process Technician I

Location: Florence, SC - 6173 East Old Marion Highway

Hours: 12 hour rotating shift (2 weeks days; 2 weeks nights)

Location/Division Specific Information:

We have two small molecule API sites in Florence, SC. Our Florence, SC (East) site is a flexible drug substance manufacturing site offering highly potent compound handling, process development and scale up and large-scale and mid-scale API production. Florence (West) specializes in process development and chemical production of intermediates and APIs for toxicology, pre-clinical and clinical supply under both non-cGMP and cGMP conditions, and has a potency capacity of Cat 3a.

How Will You Make an Impact?:

The Process Technician I manufacture API to be used in final pharmaceutical products. Under supervision, this role supervises all operations of designated chemical process to ensure safe chemical procedures, quality standards and compliance with regulatory requirements for working with and handling raw materials, production intermediates, and final products. This role makes decisions that involve direct application of technical knowledge.

A Day in the Life:Perform manufacturing tasks following strict guidelines and protocolsOperate and maintain production equipmentConduct quality control checks to ensure detailed product outputCollaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve process improvementsDocument and report any process deviations or issuesEducation:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience:Required: No previous work experience requiredPreferred: Previous work experience in manufacturing, operations, production or lab setting or related fieldPreferred: Experience in a cGMP environmentKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:This position will require the ability to work a 12-hour rotating shift in a 24-hour, 7 day per week operation to include evenings and holidays.Ability to read and interpret technical procedures and governmental regulations.Ability to apply basic mathematical principles.Ability to apply knowledge of Good Manufacturing processes and the knowledge and skills in pharmaceutical processes, equipment, instrumentation, and procedures.Physical Requirements / Work EnvironmentEmployee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; sit and to talk or hear.The employee is required to walk and stoop, or kneel, crouch approximately 80% of the time.The employee is required to ascend/ descend stairs approximately 20% of the time, lift a maximum of 50 lbs, and sit for a maximum of 4 hours.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.What We Offer
