The Role
The Process Safety Expert will support the Cork and Arklow Manufacturing Sites in the day-to-day implementation of the Process Safety program. This role involves participation in the Life Science Process Safety Center of Excellence, which is responsible for the business-level implementation of corporate governance programs related to process safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop compliance programs and site Operating Plans to implement process safety requirementsMaintain a comprehensive list of process safety-related actions.Prepare process safety deliverables for CapEx projects as outlined in the corporate program, including conducting Process Hazard Reviews using HAZOP methodology and facilitating Pre-Startup Safety Reviews.Facilitate Process Hazard Analysis.Conduct or request consequence modeling.Provide technical expertise in one or more of the following areas:Risk AssessmentChemical ReactivityFire Protection SystemMechanical IntegrityLiaise with the Life Science Process Safety Center of Excellence by:Participating in CoE meetingsActively contributing to the development of the Business Process Safety program (standards, tools)Attending and leading training sessionsLeading site process safety initiatives developed by the CoEWho you are:
Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in Health and Safety, Science, Engineering, or a related fieldOver 8 years in a regulated manufacturing environment, particularly within the chemical or pharmaceutical industry, with experience in implementing process safety programs and facilitating process hazard analyses.:Strong leadership and organizational skills, with the ability to influence and motivate colleagues.Excellent initiative and adaptability to changing priorities.Effective presentation and communication skills, both written and verbal.Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement.
