Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY Responsible for the development, implementation, and sustainment of the site Process Safety Management (PSM) and Risk Management Plan (RMP) to ensure the safety of all employees, visitors and contractors; to protect the environment and maintain compliance with process safety regulations. KEY RESPONSIBILITY & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - Drive strategic initiatives for ongoing process safety improvement - Maintain PSM/RMP enterprise-wide policies and procedures; support campuses in the implementation of the policies and procedures. - Support the design and development of comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM) training programs by contributing technical expertise, aligning content with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, and tailoring materials to diverse operational audiences. - Perform quality checks of Process Safety Information (PSI) with support from site Refrigeration Teams - Performs quality control for deliverables from Industrial Properties Engineering, 3rd parties, and PSM team members - Perform quality control for Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) - Ensure timely implementation of corrective actions from the various PSM functions, including PHAs, compliance audits, and incident investigations - Perform mini assessments to ensure PSM programs at each campus are current and to determine extent of compliance with established practices and procedures; reports the results to the PSM Leadership - Perform engineering design reviews, with a focus on PSM requirements, for new facilities/expansions - Perform off-site consequence analysis in conjunction with the 5-year RMP submittals; support the 5-year submittals and updates/corrections - Perform quality control for the Management of Change (MOC) process - Collaborate with engineering, operations, and maintenance teams to integrate process safety measures into daily operations - Perform quality control for process safety incident investigations and near-misses. - Creates and run reporting for PSM Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and leverage data analytics to identify trends, track leading indicators, and improve process safety performance. - Stay current on evolving process safety regulations and standards and assess their impact on company operations. - Ensure internal standards align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices (e.g., OSHA PSM, EPA RMP, IIAR, CCPS). - Compare internal process safety performance with industry peers and identify opportunities for improvement. QUALIFICATIONS & KEY REQUIREMENTS: Career individual contributor in a professional role. Works independently, receiving general instructions on new assignments, and a review of outcomes for technical soundness. Possesses complete knowledge of role. Applies a broad range of theories, concepts, principles, and methodologies to assignments containing some elements of complexity. Majority of work is spent both independently planning and completing the design, implementation, and/or delivery of processes, programs, and/or policies. May coach, direct, oversee, or review the work of lower-level professionals. - 5+ years of experience managing PSM / RMP program - Proficient in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel) and CMMS - Proficient knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems - Proficient understanding of document control as it relates to the PSM process - Proficient organization skills; attention to detail - Good leadership; excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Proficient ability to read and understand mechanical / electrical drawings, technical specifications, and complex regulatory requirements - Ability to work efficiently with little or no supervision - Bachelor of science degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, chemical) preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS: - Work in a fast-paced environment - Travel by car or plane with overnight stays, averaging up to a week at a time several times a year - Access all areas of the facility, including working at heights and in confined spaces - Walk, lift, bend, stoop, climb ladders, walk on roofs - Work in various weather conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those a Partner encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
