Process Engineer (Jr) PTFE– Dordrecht Works
For the Fluor Polymers (PTFE) unit at our Dordrecht site, part of the Advanced Performance Materials division, we are looking for a Manufacturing Technology (Process) Engineer. The Manufacturing Technology Engineer provides technical assistance to manufacturing operations to maintain production performance or restore process capability. Manufacturing Technology engineers work closely with technology managers and operations to upgrade products and processes by implementing modifications ranging from incremental daily improvements to technology game changers.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide process engineering support to the area manufacturing operations for troubleshooting, modifying operating equipment and facilities, and PSM (Process Safety Management) related activities.Provide technical oversight for day-to-day operations, including process monitoring, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.Initiate changes of design to the process to improve the safety, quality, environment, and/or cost of the production unit.Provide process engineering expertise for project design work to ensure its compliance with specifications, engineering standards, and quality assurance.Lead and/or participate in Process Safety Management (PSM) related activities such as Process Hazards Analysis (PHA) reviews, MOC, Pre-Start Up Safety Reviews (PSSR), Mechanical Integrity, Process Technology, and other technical and safety reviewsLead PSM criticality assessment process to ensure adequate rationale is provided to develop and manage MIQA effort, including critical spare parts identification and maintenance procedures.Assist capital project front-end loading to ensure equipment is specified meets process requirements at the highest uptime and lowest life cycle cost. Provide process support to all project phases.Analyze process and equipment trends, historical data, and uptime data to recommend and justify improvements to obtain optimal process performance and lowest life cycle cost on different classes of equipment.Work on continuous improvement activities to improve area performance.Lead and perform tests on the process to improve the safety, quality, environment, and/or cost of the production unit.Review, revise, and create procedures and other technical documentation.Qualifications:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.Demonstrated ability to apply technical knowledge to diagnose, troubleshoot, and solve mechanical and process problems.Experience in planning, prioritizing, and managing multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.Strong initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.Interest and for hands-on work with a range of personnel, including operators, maintenance staff, engineers, plant management, and senior leadership.Fluent in English; Dutch language skills are an advantage. Willingness to learn Dutch if not already proficient.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Relevant experience in polymer manufacturing, rotating equipment, reliability engineering, or data analytics is an advantage.Don’t meet all the criteria?
