Process Engineer I
Job Description SummaryKnowledgeable engineering resource to improve the competitiveness of the organization in a
performance-based team environment. Responsible for process capability, cost reduction and
continuous improvement project implementation within their designated manufacturing unit. Provides specific engineering work related to assigned team, with an overlap between engineering disciplines expected. Support capacity planning and growth, as well as define budgeted rates and process documentation. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive continuous improvement, safety enhancements, and cost reductions while implementing BD Excellence work processesIdentify critical equipment settings, create standards, and develop technical knowledge for the manufacturing unitCoach associates on continuous improvement methodologies and transfer knowledge to operatorsAnalyze top losses within the manufacturing unit and implement plans to improve OEE performanceManage change control, validation activities, root cause analysis, and quality eventsSupport facility's Quality System and design, develop, qualify, and validate manufacturing processes and equipmentPerform mechanical/electrical testing, statistical analysis, and troubleshoot processesLead projects using independent judgment and provide engineering expertiseTrain manufacturing employees and serve as technical interface with manufacturing teams

Education/Experience Requirements:Bachelor's degree in engineering or technical field OR minimum 5 years engineering experience in manufacturingApplicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the US. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment Visa at this time

Basic Qualifications:Understanding of lean principles and strong communication skillsAbility to work collaboratively and demonstrate initiativeProficiency in machinery design and problem-solvingKnowledge of safety standards, quality management systems, and logisticsProficiency with Microsoft Office, statistical analysis, and CAD (Solidworks preferred)Financial management skills and ability to translate technical documents for operatorsFlexibility with changing priorities and willingness to travel as needed

Preferred Qualifications:Six Sigma CertificationExperience in Lean Manufacturing and regulated environments

Physical Demands & Work Environment:Ability to perform gowning procedures and lift up to 35 lbsMedical device manufacturing environment with potential exposure to chemicalsRequired use of appropriate PPEOn-the-job training, SOPs, and GMP compliance required
