Process Engineer

About the Role:
You will be responsible for designing, optimizing, and implementing process solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, and sustainability.
Key Responsibilities: Develop and optimize process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) for gold or copper processing plants. Conduct mass and energy balances for new and existing operations. Support feasibility studies, scoping studies, and detailed engineering design. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including metallurgists, mechanical engineers, and project managers. Evaluate and select process equipment and technologies. Participate in HAZOP and risk assessments. Provide technical support during commissioning and start-up phases. Ensure compliance with Australian mining regulations and environmental standards. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or related discipline. 2–5 years of experience in process design or plant operations within the mining sector (gold or copper preferred). Proficiency in process simulation software (e.g., METSIM, HSC Chemistry, or Aspen Plus). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Willingness to travel to remote sites as required. Experience with Australian mining projects or operations. Knowledge of hydrometallurgical processes such as leaching, solvent extraction, and electrowinning. Familiarity with sustainability practices and process decarbonization. About Airswift
