The opportunity

Our Consulting practice is a premier provider of advisory and risk management services tailored for organizations across various industries, including oil and gas, transportation, utilities, telecommunications, and more. We collaborate with clients to strengthen their risk management frameworks, enhance business processes and internal controls, and support the design and implementation of effective governance and compliance mechanisms.

Our expertise focuses on process risk management and operational effectiveness, enabling us to help clients address complex business challenges and improve overall performance.

As part of our highly skilled team, you will participate in impactful projects for leading local and international companies operating in Azerbaijan. This dynamic environment fosters creativity, encourages ownership, and provides opportunities to build valuable professional relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Your key responsibilities

Understand and explain all components of the COSO Internal Control Framework and their application to business processes and company operations. Evaluate internal controls by identifying process goals, risks, and controls. Develop and review process documentation (flowcharts, RCMs, testing templates). Perform control testing (design and operating effectiveness) through walkthroughs, reperformance, and document reviews. Identify and assess control deficiencies and propose appropriate remediation actions. Assist in planning and executing audits, support the assessment of internal controls and compliance, and prepare clear, well-structured reports summarizing key findings and recommendations. Conduct research and benchmarking using structured methods to analyze processes and integrate insights. Prepare PowerPoint presentations and other deliverables that meet firm standards. Manage time efficiently, maintain attention to detail, and communicate progress proactively. Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Azerbaijani.

 

To qualify for this role, you must have:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field. Understanding of internal control frameworks (COSO, SOX, etc.) and their application to business processes. Foundational knowledge of internal audit principles and methodologies, including audit planning, risk assessment, control evaluation, and reporting. Experience in process documentation, risk assessment, control design, or control testing is preferred. Ability to identify process inefficiencies and propose practical recommendations for improvement. Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio); experience with data analysis or visualization tools is an advantage. Excellent written and verbal knowledge of Azerbaijani, English, Russian is advantage Demonstrated commitment to professional development and continuous learning; progress toward or interest in obtaining a professional certification such as ACCA, CIA is an asset.
