**PROCESS ASSURANCE AND COMPLIANCE OFFICER**
**Job Overview**
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Process Assurance and Compliance Officer to join our Audit and Quality Team. It is a new role responsible for working with teams across the Pearson qualifications business to develop improvement plans that will help support in mitigating risks, particularly those related to regulatory compliance and review their effectiveness, to drive continual improvement. This role requires a keen eye for detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable improvements. The successful candidate will have a strong background in regulatory compliance and process improvement and have a thorough understanding of the regulatory environment in which we operate.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Understand regulatory changes and collaborate with key business stakeholders to assess their impact on processes.
* Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures.
* Work with teams to ensure a standardised approach to developing improvement plans that will help support in mitigating risks, particularly those related to regulatory compliance.
* Ensure our risk management approach meets ISO and other certification requirements.
* Lead on process reviews and projects to improve processes, raising practical and cost-effective actions, ensuring compliance with organisational policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and present reports to senior management identifying risks affecting our regulated qualifications and outline the improvement work to mitigate risks.
* Ensure risks resulting from improvement plans and process reviews feed into our qualifications business risk management framework.
* Track improvement actions through to completion, evaluating their effectiveness.
* Stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory developments.
* Manage the assurance process for our key suppliers supporting the development and delivery of our assessments.
**Required Qualifications and Experience**
* Degree in business, Operations management or a related field (or equivalent experience).
* Demonstratable experience in process improvement, quality assurance or change management.
* Proven success in process improvement projects.
* Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance.
* Proficiency with process mapping tools.
* Strong understanding of process improvement methodologies (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma) and professional qualification (or equivalent).
* Experience of using data to drive reporting.
* Project management experience.
Desirable Experience and Qualifications
* ISO audit or implementation experience.
* Good understanding of information security compliance.
* Risk management experience.
* Professional qualification in Risk Management or equivalent.
* Experience in education sector.

**Work Environment**
Hybrid working, with some travel to London office and other Pearson sites or supplier. May require overnight stays for visits.
Role requires a high level of concentration and attention to detail, often working under tight deadlines to ensure compliance.
Normal working hours apply (37.5 hours per week); flexibility as required to meet business needs.
**Reporting Structure**
The role reports directly to the Head of Audit and Quality and will also maintain a dotted line reporting relationship to the Business Improvement and Regulation Director and the
Responsible Officer.
