Job Summary
DESC Electric Operations designs, constructs, operates and maintains reliable power delivery systems as the largest energy provider in South Carolina. This position is responsible for the administrative support of the Charleston Metro (Charleston, SC) Crew Quarter. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities Duties include:
Time entry Ordering and maintaining inventory of office supplies Maintaining departmental files, independently reviewing and processing invoices/expense reports for approval and payment to include using applications such as SAP Facilitating administrative support for permitting processes with the City of Charleston, SCDOT and other permitting agencies Providing administrative support for project cost tracking and OWIP accounting Assisting with material and equipment ordering and tracking Assisting with coordination of other operational work types including SC811 locate tickets, maintenance programs, joint use, providing administrative support and coordination to the department for technical issues, and serving as a liason for new employees. This position will compose routine office correspondence and organize meetings, meeting rooms, setting up equipment, food arrangements, etc. This position gathers information from a variety of sources to assist in preparing reports and verifying associated data. It also collects and compiles statistics and other related information as well as creates processes, sorts, indexes, records, and files a variety of records, contracts and reports for the local office and district. Assists in service restoration during outages. Other duties as assigned.

Must be able to compile and prepare reports, correspondence, and/or statistical analysis. Must be able to maintain records and filing systems. Must be able to type and/or enter data into computer systems, including strong computer knowledge and skills in: word processing, spreadsheet, presentation, database, or specialized software packages skills. Must have strong communications and interpersonal skills. Must be familiar with Federal and State rules/regulations, licensing and permitting requirements for assigned area. Must be able to build a strong business relationships. Must be able to work independently and as a team member. Excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as he ability to work with little or no supervision. The ability to maintain strict confidentiality regarding departmental information is a must.

Microsoft PowerPoint - This test evaluates a candidate’s ability to perform certain operations in a simulated environment of Microsoft PowerPoint, and includes the following topics: Applying Transitions and Animations, Creating, Managing, and Saving Presentations, Formatting Presentation Content, Reviewing, Collaborating, and Delivering Presentations, and Working with Multimedia Elements, Images, and Illustrations.
