**Employment Type:** Part time **Shift:** Rotating Shift **Description:** + As a Staff Pharmacist at MercyOne, you will ensure prompt and accurate services for patients, nurses, physicians, and other staff.Interpret and evaluate the validity and safety of orders and prescriptions.Monitors the quality of pharmaceutical services provided.Dispense medications in accordance with legal requirements.Provide information to staff and clients regarding medications and drug therapy.Maintain accurate records.Supervise the work of supportive personnel and verifies the activities of supportive personnel.Reviews electronic/written medication orders to determine clarity, appropriate dose, schedule, possible drug interactions and contraindications. + Consults directly with the physician, physician/hospice nurse or nursing home, if changes or clarification is needed. + Supervises preparation of patient medications using standard techniques and procedures, including all drugs, prescriptions, controlled substances, IV's and IV admixtures. + Successfully interacts with interdisciplinary teams, administrators, physicians, residents, resident families, nursing directors, nursing staff, as well as state and federal regulations. + Directs and monitors pharmacy technicians in proper packaging, labeling and distribution of medications.Maintains departmental medication inventory levels by checking stock and orders supplies and drugs as indicated. Maintains perpetual inventory system.
