As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will evaluate and treat patients with injuries or diseases which result in loss or impairment of speech, language, voice, cognitive and/or swallowing function. In this role, you will support patients in enhancing their communication abilities, expanding how they connect with others, and improving their capacity to understand, express themselves, and swallow safely. In addition to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives, you will have ongoing opportunities to develop your own expertise through Cleveland Clinic’s extensive resources and educational programs. 
 

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) varying shifts.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

Evaluate and treat patients with injuries and/or diseases which result in a loss or impairment of speech, language, voice, cognitive and/or swallowing function.  Perform initial and ongoing assessments of patients’ conditions.  Establish goals and plans of care.  Perform therapy interventions utilizing standard speech therapy techniques and skills.  Complete documentation.  

 
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Master’s Degree Graduate of an accredited Speech-Language Pathology Program Current Ohio license as a Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) Hold or have applied for the Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Pathology from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association 

 
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

Experience in a clinical area 

Physical Requirements:

Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform tasks needed for patient care and administrative tasks.Ability to stand for long periods of time.

Personal Protective Equipment:

Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
