Responsibilities and Essential Job Functions
Perform patient assessment; apply diagnostic and prognostic muscle, nerve, joint, and functional ability testsDevelop plan of care; including discharge plan based on the patient’s potentialImplement care and maintain up-to-date treatment recordsAssess patient/family learning needsEducate patient, family, and other staff members regarding patient care, exercise, equipment, devices and disease processEvaluate plan of careDevelop a plan of care for physical therapist assistants and/or physical therapy aides to follow and oversee their facilitation of planParticipate in interdisciplinary, Rehab department, and Skilled meetings, department conferences, rehabilitation inservices, and quality assurance activitiesEnsure safety of patients, visitors, colleagues, and selfMust be able to perform the professional, clinical and or technical competencies of the assigned unit or department.These statements are intended to describe the essential functions of the job and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.
