Job Description:

PRN Hospice Spiritual Care Coordinator/Chaplain Support. Comfort. Presence. When it matters most.

As a PRN Spiritual Care Coordinator, you’ll walk alongside individuals and families in their most vulnerable moments, offering peace, guidance, and compassionate presence rooted in respect for their beliefs and traditions.

This PRN role is ideal for those called to serve on a flexible, as-needed basis. You’ll help provide coverage during vacations, PTO, and times of increased patient need—all while being part of a deeply supportive and mission-driven team.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Theology, Divinity, Pastoral Counseling, or related field

Ordination, licensure, or board certification as a chaplain, minister, or spiritual advisor

At least 2 years of experience in hospice, pastoral care, counseling, or related work

Deep empathy, excellent listening skills, and cultural sensitivity

Ability to travel within the local area (about 50%)

Valid driver’s license, insurance, and reliable transportation

What You’ll Do

As a trusted member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will:

Provide spiritual and emotional care tailored to each patient’s faith, culture, and preferences.

Conduct initial and follow-up spiritual assessments to support individualized care planning.

Deliver non-denominational counseling, prayer, and comfort based on patient/family needs.

Offer guidance on key end-of-life themes—grief, hope, forgiveness, meaning, and closure.

Participate in team conferences and collaborate with nurses, social workers, and bereavement staff.

Support patients and families before and after death, offering continuity of care.

Educate others on the importance and impact of spiritual care in hospice.
