Principle Scientist - Formulation Leader

An employer is seeking a Principle Scientist for a long term opportunity in the Raritan, NJ area. This Scientist will be joining a leader in the medical device industry on a projected that is focused on polymer synthesis, raw material design and supplier engagements for a product launch that will be going through clinical trials in the next calendar year. Day to day responsibilities will include leading raw materials through design iterations, develop and execute data for design experiments, participate in design reviews and drive the analysis of synthesized polymers. This Principle Scientist will drive the product launch from design through clinical trial and participate with PMA. The specific experience required must include gelatins, biomaterials and resorbable material development for class III medical devices. Other experience that will make this scientist qualified include: proven problem-solving skills using analytical technologies, Design of Experiments (DOE), writing completion reports is preferred, developing combination (drug/device) medical devices products and in vitro and ex vivo methods for characterizing prototypes and products.

Skills and Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of industry experience is required.
Successful experiences in launching new products & formulations to market is required. (Must have successfully progressed one Medical Device to clinical trial: required, successful launch into market)
Experience in gelatins, biomaterials and resorbable material development
Experience in Class III medical devices
Bachelor's degree in chemistry and an advanced degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Polymer Engineering or Chemical Engineering is preferred
