Principal Training Specialist
**Job Description** BAE Systems, one of the world s largest defense contractors, is hiring a detailed, highly organized Principal Training Specialist (Program Excellence Learning Business Partner) to develop, coordinate, and deliver training materials for our Program Management Team at CMS. The Program Excellence team provides strategic and thought leadership to Project, Program, and Portfolio Management for the Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business area with annual sales of approximately $3B and about 160 program managers. The Program Excellence Learning Business Partner is responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs to enhance the skills and knowledge of program managers within the organization. This includes creating and implementing training curricula, workshops, and other educational events to support the development of program management competencies. The work will involve frequent interaction with program managers, subject matter experts, and other stakeholders to design and deliver training programs The person we seek is passionate about the experience of learners, brings positivity to the team, and easily creates lasting relationships. The chosen candidate is a proactive communicator who is not afraid to speak up, challenge assumptions, and advocate for effective learning solutions. A hybrid work format is preferred, with time split between working onsite and remotely. For this position, we will consider someone working out of any one of the major Combat Mission Systems locations: York PA, Sterling Heights MI, Louisville KY, or Minneapolis MN. Will consider fully remote candidates. Responsibilities: + Develop recommendations for training solutions for functional, compliance, regulatory, technical and leadership training. + Develop and implement comprehensive training programs to support program management certification and professional development + Design and deliver training courses, workshops, and seminars on program management topics, such as project planning, risk management, and budgeting + Collaborate with internal instructional designers and developers, as well as third party developers for the development of training courses, assessments, scenario-based learning experiences, etc. + Serve as the project managers for the development of new training courses from the curriculum mapping phase through the development phase to the publishing stage. + Work with leadership, management, and subject matter experts to identify training needs, establish expertise and stakeholders for the development of new training courses. + Collaborate with other organizations and stakeholders to leverage resources and expertise in support of program management training + Work with and relationship build within the functional areas to understand the training needs at the various sites within the division to communicate and escalate priority and needs to the training organization / training leadership. + Obtain, manage and control source content (screen recordings, graphics, documentation, surveys, learning needs analysis) for the development of functional training). + Development of presentations for management and senior level leadership (e.g. project timing, deliverables, milestones, issues and achievements). + Work with the various departments of training to develop a formal launch plan after training is developed (including communications, analytics and automation, administration, facilitation, etc.) + Tracking and administration of program management certifications and training. + Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make recommendations for improvement. + Provide coaching and mentoring to program managers to support their professional development. + Stay current with industry trends and best practices in program management and incorporate this knowledge into training programs. **Required Education, Experience, & Skills** + Bachelor's degree in a related field with 6 years of experience in program management or a related field + Proven experience in designing and delivering training programs + Experience with adult learning theory and instructional design + Experience with online learning platforms and tools + Strong knowledge of program management principles, practices, and techniques + Excellent communication, interpersonal, and facilitation skills + Ability to work independently and as part of a team + Strong analytical and problem-solving skills + Functions well in a team environment + Gains consensus, leads, influences, and ensures cross-discipline participation and feedback + Experience working across functional boundaries + Demonstrated ability in guiding change management (especially cultural change) to work across a variety of functions, cultures, sites, geographic regions, and levels of management to deliver training results to the business. **Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills** + Master's degree in a related field + Certified Program Manager (CPM) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification + Experience working in Defense or similar organization + Experience working in Articulate Storyline and/or Articulate Rise **Pay Information** Full-Time Salary Range: $90373 - $153634 Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
