Principal Technical Marketing Manager

The technical marketer is responsible for driving customer interest in NI’s product and solutions for their assigned business segment. This position primarily focuses on Academic, including research and teaching. Key responsibilities include driving demand generation efforts including events, training the sales force, and technical content creation.

This role will collaborate closely with many groups including business management, R&D, marketing, and sales. 

IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL: 

Build strong product positioning that highlights the value of our NI products and systems, working with product and industry marketing managers. Own product marketing responsibilities for named academic products Demonstrate NI’s product value for the industry by driving and/or performing demo creation, whitepapers, presentations, collateral, videos, enablement, webinars, customer case studies, and other content formats.  Work with web teams, campaign marketing, direct sales, distributors and our community to evangelize NI’s message and content to the target audience.    Spend time with users to develop technical expertise, becoming the “go-to” subject matter expert for NI’s products and solutions in their industry segment.  Use this knowledge to support presales needs and large events (eg. NI Connect)

FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED: 

Bachelors degree in Marketing, Engineering, or any related field 8+ years of relevant marketing and/or Test and measurement industry experience  Strong technical skills and understanding of Test and measurement hardware and software, particularly around measurements, data acquisition, and control.  Exceptional communication skills, including technical writing, messaging, and presenting at live and virtual events.  Proven cross-functional leadership skills Interest in strategy and eye for business.   Self-motivated but collaborative work ethic.  Availability for some domestic and international travel requirements (5-10%) Legal authorization to work in Canada without sponsorship now or in the future. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART: 

You have existing NI, test and measurement, or academic marketing experience You’ve worked alongside B2B sales roles or have done sales enablement You have experience with cross-organization leadership to drive strategic alignment and ensure execution You’re determined, highly motivated, and highly independent to get results
