None/Not RequiredOpportunity is available in the Portland, Oregon metro area for a talented, motivated Principal Systems Engineer to design, develop, and test a variety of products including Enhanced Vision Systems and innovative new display products geared toward the military, air transport and corporate jet markets. With an emphasis on product quality, we are developing systems which bring improved value to the flight deck through enhanced situational awareness, lower operating minima, and added safety benefits.
Our Systems Engineering team is responsible for head-up guidance, enhanced vision system requirement definition, including the definition of interfaces with other aircraft systems, the definition of desired functionality (including display formats and behaviors), and the verification and validation of the correct implementation of these defined characteristics, as well as LRU system definition and qualification. Systems Engineering is also involved in the system certification primarily with FAA, EASA and Transport Canada.
Position will be a onsite role, requiring onsite presence. Relocation assistance is not available.
What You Will Do:
Design and manage complex engineering systems throughout their life cycle. Establish plans and strategy for requirements management, coordination of different teams, and project management. Manage budget, cost, and schedule. Provide expertise in the decomposition of customer specifications and system level requirements into lower level requirements and make recommendations for the generation of verification criteria and plans for the requirements. Perform analysis at all levels of the system including concept, design, system architecture, modeling, integration, test, installation, operation, and maintenance for the head-up guidance system and / or imaging systems or components. Perform technical planning, system integration, validation, verification and cost and risk analysis. Manages configuration process, perform functional analysis, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule and cost constraints. Decompose customer specifications and system level requirements into sub-system and piece part requirements Generate verification criteria and plans for system level requirementsQualifications You Must Have:
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience Must have experience developing systems requirements and system design Hands-on system integration and test experience Knowledge of ARP4754A Knowledge of avionics systems developmentQualifications We Prefer:
Avionics / Displays Experience Preferred Knowledge of aircraft or electronic systems Experience with JAMA requirements management software and Confluence tool Experience with DOORs requirements management software Understanding of the Civil Certification process Understanding of the applicable CFRs and ACs for Part 25 aircraft Knowledge of DO-178B/C, DO-254, and DO-160GWhat We Offer:

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
