Solipsys is a wholly owned subsidiary of Collins Aerospace/RTX and is currently seeking a Software Engineer with experience in Java to join our team who is talented, highly motivated, has a passion for finding innovative solutions to problems, and committed to quality. Solipsys is an industry leader in the development of command and control software systems and operates in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced business environment with both commercial and Government customers, including a mix of domestic and international pursuits and programs.
We are seeking a **Principal Systems Engineer** to work in Fulton, MD. This is a hybrid position. Eligible candidates must reside within commuting distance from Fulton, MD as on site presence is expected during the week.
**What You Will Do:**
+ Serve as onsite C2 systems operations SME, supporting USAF customer and representing the Solipsys Corporation business
+ Perform software installation and demonstration of Solipsys C2 software
+ Software system integration and test in a fast paced, prototype lab environment
+ Hands on debugging of issues discovered during integration
+ This position requires up to 25% travel, where you will serve as an Onsite Systems Engineer and Command and Control (C2) Operations Subject Matter Expert (SME) in advanced software integration facilities at locations all over the world, working closely with USAF representatives developing prototypes and innovative advancements in Multi-Sensor and Information Fusion, Networked Situational Awareness, and Visualization technologies. Travel will be domestic and international.
**Qualifications You Must Have:**
+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 8 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 5 years of experience
+ Experience as a systems engineer on a software development program
+ Strong background in integrating software and debugging issues in a software development environment, including knowledge of Red Hat Linux Operating System
+ Experience with any of these systems: Command and Control (C2), Surveillance/Radars, Air Traffic Control, Mission Planning, Missile Systems or Combat/Fire Control systems
+ U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
**Qualifications We Prefer:**
+ Experience as an Air Battle Manager (ABM) in the Air Force with in-depth knowledge of the role and the C2 systems that are used in this role
+ Adept at communicating (verbal and written) with all levels within and outside the company, ability to prepare and deliver presentations/summaries which appropriate address the intended audience
+ Experience working with standard MS Office product suite applications
+ Active security clearance is preferred

The salary range for this role is 101,000 USD - 203,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
