The Electronic Warfare and Airborne Sensors department within the Space and Air Sensors; Systems Engineering & Test Capabilities (SE&TC) organization has an immediate opening for a Principal Systems Engineer to support the design, development, and testing of cutting-edge Electronic Warfare (EW) technology for a suite of products across multiple programs. This position supports a variety of activities including but not limited to architecture development, requirements management, and development oversight for signal processing systems and software defined RF systems (radar, communications, and/or EW). This is a great opportunity to work on novel technology that will be relevant for years to come, gaining experience that enables accelerated future career growth. **This is an onsite role in Fort Wayne, IN** **What You Will Do:** + Understand the customer’s architecture needs and desired capabilities and participate in requirements decomposition to ensure appropriate allocation of technical architecture elements. + Develop innovative solutions to complex technical challenges in signal processing design. + Create, modify, and/or test existing electronic warfare signal processing and control algorithms and associated system software. + Develop and execute test plans, including test simulations and lab tests to verify system capability. + Evaluate and assess functional performance of developmental RF systems, including signal processing subsystems, software, and/or firmware/control algorithms. + Support bid and proposal activities by providing labor related inputs that help guide planning and cost development. + Coordinate assigned responsibilities and competing priorities while maintaining organized workflows and operating with minimal direct oversight. + Communicate and present system design details and test results to internal and external customers. **Qualifications You Must Have:** + Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience. + Working knowledge of RF system design, digital and analog signal processing, waveform and signal modulation characteristics and analysis, and/or algorithm implementation and testing. + Experience with system architecture definition and requirements derivation, allocation, and management. + Experience developing system models, simulations, and other forms of analysis to predict system performance, ensuring design optimization. + Ability to analyze engineering requirements, develop technical solutions, and implement system updates when system parameters are still being defined + Participate in occasional business travel (20% or less). + Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance, **Qualifications We Prefer** + Familiarity with development, implementation, and test of RF jamming algorithms. + Experience using MATLAB, Python, C++, PathWave ADS, and/or PathWave EMPro for simulation and design of RF systems. + RF receiver/exciter product design, development, and/or test experience in electronic warfare systems + Understanding of embedded systems and embedded programming. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
