Collins Aerospace is seeking a talented and driven Principal Specialist Material Program Manager (MPM) to join our Mission Systems team in either Largo, FL or Marlborough, MA. In this critical role, you will lead the supplier management process—developing and executing strategies to mitigate risk, drive supplier performance, and optimize material flow across the program lifecycle. You’ll act as a key liaison between customers, program management, and suppliers, ensuring all material contract objectives (technical, cost, and schedule) are met with excellence. Your responsibilities will include managing supplier performance, resolving supply chain issues, and ensuring full compliance with FAR/DFARS, ITAR, offset requirements, public law, quality standards, and warranty obligations. You will also evaluate and refine the Make Buy/Make Where (MB/MW) strategy to improve operational efficiency while developing comprehensive material program strategies and overseeing the financial management of material requirements. Success in this role requires strong leadership, deep expertise in procurement, contracts, production control, and logistics, and the ability to drive cross-functional teams toward operational and strategic goals. What You Will Do 

Responsible for customer communications and building a robust customer relationship 

Supplier Claims/Request for Economical Adjustments (REA's) and mediation management 

Conduct pre award Supplier Assessment (RESA) Establish Logistics strategy and capacity plan Reporting, tracking, and managing of an integrated product team and/or program responsible for the delivery of procured material from suppliers, through external testing, and shipment to contractual destination 

Provide EAC content for Critical Program Review, including pre-proposal lead time validation and preliminary pricing for direct/indirect material 

Conduct material contract closure activity alongside Contracts and Program Office 

Act as the Control Account Manager (CAM) or support the assigned CAM 

Establish Risk and Opportunities and Mitigation plans 

Domestic travel up to 25% 

  

Qualifications You Must Have 

Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience  

Experience with Supplier management and/or Subcontract management 

Comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point) 

  

Qualifications We Prefer 

Experience with SAP/PRISM and the Supply Chain suite of tools 

Knowledge of operational and manufacturing processes (assembly, integration, and test) Experience in Earned Value Management or related financial management experience 

Experience with supply chain and related systems, procurement, production control/material planning, receiving, cost estimating, logistics, and/or finance 

The ability to develop & execute Risk/Opportunity plans to meet program objectives 

Working cross functionally, strong communication skills 

Experience in defense aerospace industry

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
