Collins Aerospace is seeking to hire a Principal Specialist, Landing Systems SIOE (Sales, Inventory, and Operational Excellence) – Inventory and Past Due to join our team. The Principal Specialist – Sales, Inventory & Operational Excellence (SIOE) plays a critical role in driving inventory health, past due recovery, and operational alignment across the Landing Systems enterprise. Reporting to the Sr. Manager / Associate Director of SIOE, this position will lead analysis, execution, and cross-functional coordination to improve inventory turns, reduce past due orders, and support broader supply chain transformation.
This role requires strong analytical thinking, multi-functional (supply chain, operations, quality, engineering, etc) supply chain knowledge, and the ability to influence across functions. The ideal candidate brings a hands-on approach to solving complex problems, expertise in data-driven decision-making, and a passion for operational excellence.
This position is working onsite at one of the following site locations: Troy, Ohio or Fort Worth, Texas. Eligible for Relocation Assistance.
**What You Will Do**
Inventory Performance & Optimization
+ Monitor and analyze inventory levels and turns, including excess and obsolete (E&O) trends.
+ Partner with site and functional teams to drive actions that reduce aged inventory and align stocking strategies to demand signals.
+ Support PFEP execution by validating planning parameters (lead time, MOQ, reorder points, etc.) and identifying improvement opportunities
+ Support site/program activities to reduce aged WIP, finished goods, and drive more optimized inventory
Past Due Management
+ Lead weekly and monthly past due performance reviews with manufacturing, planning, program and fulfillment teams.
+ Develop root cause analyses and mitigation plans for top past due drivers, including material shortages, capacity constraints, and planning gaps.
+ Proactively monitor aging orders and provide early warning on risks to on-time delivery (OTD).
Analytics & Reporting
+ Build and maintain dashboards, reports, and models that provide visibility to inventory and past due metrics across the Landing Systems network.
+ Develop tools to monitor and visualize key performance indicators (KPIs) and drive accountability at both the functional and leadership levels.
+ Consolidate and standardize reporting across segments to ensure enterprise-wide visibility and alignment.
+ Process Improvement & Execution Support
+ Identify opportunities to streamline material planning and fulfillment workflows to reduce lead time and improve responsiveness.
+ Participate in cross-functional kaizen events and Lean initiatives to drive inventory and OTD improvements.
+ Support system enhancements and continuous improvement projects related to inventory management, planning tools, and reporting.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
+ Serve as a connector between supply chain, operations, and customer fulfillment teams to ensure coordinated execution of recovery actions.
+ Participate in SIOP reviews and support execution of demand-supply alignment decisions through inventory and past due strategies.
+ Collaborate closely with other SIOE team members, supply planners, and plant-level material teams to ensure standard work and best practices are shared.
+ Lead efforts to improve standard work, system utilization, and process integration related to SIOE.
+ Support system transformation initiatives (e.g., ERP, advanced planning tools) by representing the needs of inventory and analytics processes
+ Leverage CORE principles to identify waste, improve flow, and ensure accurate inventory visibility and control
**Qualifications You Must Have**
+ Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience
+ Experience working with SIOP (Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning) including Finance and Business Case preparation
+ Experience in a high paced manufacturing environment
+ Experience with PFEP principles and inventory segmentation techniques
+ Experience using ERP systems (preferred SAP)
**Qualifications We Prefer**
+ APICS Certification preferred (CPIM, CSCP)
+ Expertise in Advanced Manufacturing Technologies
+ Experience applying logical and scientific thinking principles to solve a wide range of intellectual, organizational, and practical problems
+ Experience and application of Lean manufacturing principles (CORE, ACE, LEAN manufacturing or Six Sigma)
+ Analytical problem-solving capability and organizational skills with attention to detail
+ Experience analyzing complex data and translating findings into clear, actionable recommendations

The salary range for this role is 82,000 USD - 164,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
